Description:

South Willamette Street from the north side of 19th Avenue to the north side of 23rd Avenue will be repaved in 2013.  Replacing the pavement includes replacing the top layers of deteriorated pavement and removing sections of pavement that have failed.  The project will also reconstruct sidewalk access ramps to meet accessibility standards. Pavement projects provide an opportunity to reevaluate the existing configuration of the roadway such as changes in striping to include the addition of bike lanes or crosswalks.

Traffic Impacts:

Expect significant delays and lane detours during paving construction. Watch for flaggers and equipment and workers in the roadway. Use alternate routes.

Funding:

The major sources of funding for this project come from the 2008 voter-approved bond measure to fix streets and local fuel taxes. Additional funding is coming from stormwater and wastewater utility fees.
