The path will be widen for safety at the corners on either side of the railroad track tunnel. The glue-laminated bride railings on Knickerbocker Bridge show signs of aging and heavy splintering. Business Access During Construction? Yes
Timeline:

This project is scheduled for construction in the Winter/Spring of 2017.

Traffic Impacts:

Drivers should expect a lane closure on Franklin Boulevard as the sidewalk and curb is replaced. Pedestrians and bicyclists riding on the path system should expect path and sidewalk detours during the duration of the work. Bicyclists riding on Franklin Boulevard should expect to merge with motor vehicle traffic depending on available lane widths during construction. Pedestrians and bicyclists should also expect short term bridge detours as the railing is replaced on Knickerbocker Bridge.

Work Schedule:

Prior to construction, utility companies (water, electricity, gas) will be on-site adjusting their facilities in order to avoid conflicts with the work and prevent damage to their facilities.

Funding:

The major source of funding is from Oregon Department of Transportation.
The City will match a portion of the construction cost using the Transportation System Development Charges fund.
