Interstate 5 and OR 569 Randy Pape Beltline Unit 4

Construction Update - Week of Mar 23, 2018

I-5 @ Beltline Interchange – Unit 4 (MP 194 to MP 195.75)

Project Summary:

  • Building a new bridge over I-5 to accommodate a reconfigured onramp
  • Building a sound wall south of Beltline and east of Coburg Road
  • Adding an additional lane on eastbound Beltline from Coburg Road to I-5 on ramp
  • Extending the multi-use path for bike and pedestrian travelers. The multi-use path will be extended south, linking Harlow Road to North Garden Way

Remarks: This is the last phase of a multi-year interchange project. Crews are working on finishing up miscellaneous project items. The multiuse path is open for the public to use, but users should be cautious as there is still clean-up work still going on and construction equipment on-site.

The westbound Beltline Variable Message Sign (VMS) is scheduled to be installed on Tuesday night, March 27. Crews will begin lane closures at 8 p.m. The installation will occur between 11:30 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. Drivers should use caution when traveling on westbound Beltline between I-5 and Coburg Road. Expect lane closures, rolling slowdowns, and stopped traffic on westbound Beltline approaching the sign location, just east of the Coburg Rd off-ramp. Delays should not exceed 20 minutes.

This project is scheduled to be completed early 2018.
